I agree with Lane Shore, Mission Possible Chicago, who found this gem, that you have to have a lot of admiration and respect for Dr. Jacqueline Verrett who told the "boss" approving dangerous additives should not be done. She even wrote the book: Eating May Be Dangerous To Your Health: The Case Against Food Additives. In her book she talks about finding out after the fact when you have people with cancer and deformed babies - just as we have now from aspartame. And she fought against aspartame as well and told Congress that it still hadn't been proven safe when she testified in l987, and it had been on the market since l981. Someone said she died after her testimony with a very quick case of cancer.
Even after her death you see her words having even greater meaning today. She talks about colors which are only cosmetic and have no place in our food. Remember the Liverpool study that reported when mouse nerve cells were exposed to MSG and brilliant blue or aspartame and quinoline yellow in laboratory conditions, combined in concentrations that theoretically reflect the compound that enters the bloodstream after a typical children's snack and drink, the additives stopped the nerve cells growing and interfered with proper signaling systems.
Today they mix all kinds of deadly additives together like aspartame, MSG, Sucralose or Splenda and Acesulfame Potassium which caused cancer and leukemia in original studies. In the Liverpool study the mixtures of the additives had a much more potent effect on nerve cells than each additive on its own.
The study reported that the effect on cells could be up to four times greater when brilliant blue and MSG were combined, and up to seven times greater when quinoline yellow and aspartame were combined, than when the additives were applied on their own. "The results indicate that both combinations are potentially more toxic than might be predicted from the sum of their individual compounds," the researchers concluded. They said exposure to food additives during a child's development has been associated with behavioral problems such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which we know, of course. Just another study the FDA ignored because they are so guilty. We also have always known that MSG and aspartame have an additive and synergistic effect. Dr. John Olney wrote a 49 page report to the Board of Inquiry of the FDA about the aspartate in aspartame and MSG, both excitotoxins, and how it would destroy the brains of our children. Prophecy fulfilled.
Indeed, Dr. Jacqueline Verrett, was a woman of integrity who believed in safe food and drugs, unlike the FDA today who is Big Pharma's Washington Branch Office.
