Dear Mrs. Ramirez:

Aspartame, of course, is a carcinogen, and it was known from the beginning as the FDA observed the cancers in original studies, and beyond any shadow of a doubt.

It was an easy question to answer, especially for someone like myself who has been taking the case histories of the sick and dying on aspartame for 26 years. Doing the research on this addictive, excitoneurotoxic, carcinogenic, genetically engineered drug, adjuvant (immune stimulator) and teratogen for a quarter of a century brings the same conclusion as Dr. Ralph Walton reached when he did research on aspartame for 60 Minutes. So the first thing you do to get the facts is leave out pay to play. In the case of the aspartame industry they even have a front group for research called ILSI. If universities want research funds they have to be willing to say aspartame is safe. Today MIT gets research funds and Dr. Wurtman no longer speaks out against this terrifying carcinogen. You will see from reading this investigation above aspartame was approved through the political chicanery of Donald Rumsfeld. The FDA first tried to get G. D. Searle indicted for fraud but both US Prosecutors Sam Skinner and William Conlon went to work for the company's defense team and the statute of limitations expired. So the FDA set up a Board of Inquiry who said that aspartame could not be proven to be safe and revoked the petition for approval. That's when Rumsfeld stepped in. President Reagan owed him a favor and after taking office wrote an executive order making the FDA Commissioner powerless to sign the revoked petition into law, and someone from the transition team called at 3:00 AM and fired him. Congress was worthless. As soon as aspartame was approved the poisoning of the human race began. The public was reporting brain tumors and brain cancers, seizures, drug interactions, blindness, etc. The FDA report of complaints listed 92 reactions from four types of seizures to blindness and death. Senator Metzenbaum wrote a bill of reactions from aspartame being seen in the population asking for a moratorium until NIH could do independent studies on the problems being observed. By now Monsanto owned aspartame and gave contributions to those who might dare to vote against them.

Aspartame is made up of an excitotoxin, (aspartic acid)two neurotoxins (a methyl ester which immediately becomes free methyl alcohol and phenylalanine at 50% of the molecule, and a brain tumor agent, (diketopiperazine). The methanol converts to formaldehyde and embalms living tissue. It ravages every organ in the body. When the rats in the original studies began having brain tumors the manufacturer simply excised the tumors and put the rats back in the study. When they died they resurrected them on paper.

Dr. M. Alemany did the Trocho Study showing the formaldehyde converted from the free methyl alcohol embalms living tissue and damages DNA by which you can destroy humanity! So I went to Barcelona to visit with Dr. Alemany. His first words to me were "Aspartame will kill 250 million people!" Formaldehyde is a carcinogen. For exposing the facts on this chemical poison the aspartame industry tried to assassinate his character.

We tried to have aspartame banned in New Mexico. Most of the House and Senate were sipping Diet Coke as we spoke. Dr. Ken Stoller who has an aspartame detox center said, "I don't think we will get very far with you drinking Diet Coke, but at least have mercy on the children." They didn't. The lobbyists, the front groups and paid trade organizations seemed everywhere. They even hired a Harvard Attorney! Expect to hear from the American Diabetes Assoc, the Calorie Control, the dietitians and everyone who receives funding to keep the propaganda machine alive. You were surrounded with flacks and pundits. I remember one particular Senator who was diabetic so I explained aspartame not only can precipitate diabetes but simulates and aggravates diabetic retinopathy but causes diabetics to go into convulsions, destroys the optic nerve and even interacts with insulin. Since I had so much proof she agreed to get off of it to save her life but she didn't vote to save the lives of other New Mexicans and the poor children. After aspartame was approved the old FDA who had tried to revoke the petition for approval and indict the manufacturer became the new FDA. The old FDA who knew aspartame was a chemical poison and carcinogen even reported on this new "anything goes" organization.

Dr. Adrian Gross, chief scientist and toxicologist at the old FDA testified before the Senate:

He told Congress that at least one of Searles studies has established beyond any reasonable doubt that aspartame is capable of inducing brain tumors in experimental animals and that this predisposition of it is of extremely high significance.... In view of these indications that the cancer causing potential of aspartame is a matter that had been established way beyond any reasonable doubt, one can ask: What is the reason for the apparent refusal by the FDA to invoke for this food additive the so-called Delaney Amendment to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act?"

The Delaney Amendment makes it illegal to allow any residue of cancer-causing chemicals in foods. Dr Gross concluded by asking, Given the cancer-causing potential of aspartame, how would the FDA justify its position that it views a certain amount of aspartame as constituting an allowable daily intake or safe level of it? Is that position in effect not equivalent to setting a tolerance for this food additive and thus a violation of that law? And if the FDA itself elects to violate the law, who is left to protect the health of the public? Congressional Record SID835:131 (8/1/85)

So there you have it, the FDA who knew what was going on, has confessed. In fact, in 2009 nine FDA scientists admitted to Congress the FDA was broken. They are not able to protect your life. The pay for play life style has taken over the new FDA.

Even FDA toxicologist, Dr. Jacqueline Verrett , testified before Congress in 1987. She said at that time aspartame remained on the market without being proven safe. You can google it on web.. Aspartame was legally approved in 1981 although the builder of the Augusta, Georgia aspartame plant said they were selling it illegally before then and that it was a poison that made him deathly sick.

Studies by independent researchers continually showed aspartame to be a carcinogen. Dr. Morando Soffritti of the Ramazzini Institute in Italy did three studies. They showed aspartame to be a multipotential carcinogen causing everything from leukemia, lymphoma and liver cancer to mammary cancer. Dr. Soffritti was given an award only given twice in history. Then came along Harvard who publicized a human study saying it was the strongest and longest. To show you how quickly the aspartame industry got to them, they immediately wrote an apology for publishing it saying it was weak. How do you tell the public one day its the strongest and the longest, and the next day say it was weak. So know now this is a battle between facts and the aspartame industry power. Read what industry power can do. Even the head of EFSA, European Food Association resigned because he said they were pressured by industry and commented on the Ramazzini studies. You bet . Label it as such and show the world there are still people of integrity who care about the health of the public and refuse to bend to conflict of interests or receive pay to play on the wrong side of truth. For the first time I would like to see the health of the public being put first. It's now being put in food unlabeled and even Neotame, a stronger aspartame is being added to pork. Dr. Jeffrey Bada told me they simply moved the formula around, same old thing. There is so much cancer documented in over 30 years its outlined in medical texts by experts such as" Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic", by world expert, the late Dr. H. J. Roberts, http://www.amazon.com, "While Science Sleeps: A Sweetener Kills" by Dr. Woodrow Monte: www.whilesciencesleeps.com and "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills" by Russell Blaylock, M.D. Dr. Monte's text is on the methanol in aspartame and he says: Page 4 & 5: "Pulling the pin of the little methanol molecule causes it to open up into diabolical killing machine, much as visualized so well in one of those Transformer movies your kids watch. .The name of the killing machine is one you will recognize: formaldehyde. Yes, the very same formaldehyde that is now known to be a powerful cancer-causing agent - the one that we are warned to avoid at all costs. I describe methanol as a bomb, not because it explodes, but because the damage that it inflicts when it does convert into formaldehyde is very local and confined to a small area... just like a hand grenade. The reason for this is that formaldehyde itself is very quick to react to tissue in the immediate area where it is produced.

Dr. Monte also says in the book that the formaldehyde turns tissues to plastic. You can read about infant deaths from a touch of methanol. The company who originally got it approved through the political chicanery of Donald Rumsfeld made a pact with the governmental agency that should have been acting as the infant's only protection from just such threats. St. Judes is a hospital full of babies with brain tumors because of this heinous crime by FDA and G. D. Searle.

If I continued to give you proof on aspartame being a carcinogen this would be a book instead of a letter. If you look for proof you will notice if it’s from unbiased peer reviewed research it shows cancer. Only research paid for or controlled by industry will ever say it’s safe, and industry from the beginning couldn't show safety. That's why the FDA tried to have them indicted for fraud.

If you're an operation for the benefit of the people I know you will do the right thing. Aspartame violates the Delaney Amendment because it’s a carcinogen. I hate to think of how many millions have perished including babies because of the aspartame killing machine. I tried to work with Prop 65 some years ago and the lady I worked with told me she never got my email, a copy of which is in the Aspartame Resource Guide: http://www.mpwhi.com/aspartame_resource_guide_list.htm I also sent studies and proof by mail which was not received. So I want receipt of this letter.

One other thing, Norma Vera, translated studies on aspartame in 6 countries. They used people from poor villages and while they gave them a lot of it so many developed malignant brain tumors, as well as seizures and other horrific disease. The pregnant woman lost her baby. Aspartame is an abortifacient and teratogen. Then she disappeared. G. D. Searle then sold the company to Monsanto and never published these studies. Don Rumsfeld got 12 million dollars on the deal.

I will never forget the cries of Kelli Motluck, a 28 year old mother and attorney, with a head full of aspartame tumors. She said, "I want to live, I want to live, I want to live, but if I die tell the world Monsanto murdered me."
