Subject: Athletes and Sudden Cardiac Death
Dear Editor or Newsdesk:
I'm glad to see this article about sports and deaths in your paper. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/national/danger--sport-can-kill/2007/04/13/1175971356435.html
I would like to confirm what was said about athletes suffering sudden cardiac death because of aspartame (NutraSweet/Equal/Spoonful/Canderel/E951/Benevia). Sounds like my words, "aspartame triggers an irregular heartbeat", interacts with all cardiac medication, damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death. Here is neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, MD paper on sudden cardiac death - the Athlete Alert, which explains the mechanism. http://www.wnho.net/aspartame_msg_scd.htm And if there are 100,000 cases you can be sure that aspartame has caused a great many of them. Sudden Cardiac Death is so common today that defibrillators are being sold across the counter. In fact, two European Parliamentarians petitioned WHO to call it sudden death syndrome and track it so that they could find out why so many people are simply dropping dead. I don't doubt that a lot of SIDS deaths are also aspartame, or vaccines.
There is a medical text on the world plague of Aspartame Disease by H. J. Roberts, M.D., called Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, http://www.sunsentpress.com
There is also an aspartame documentary, Sweet Misery: An Ignored Epidemic, http://www.amazon.com In this movie they go to a prison and interview Diane Fleming. Diane's husband, Charles, was an aspartame addict and he played basketball about four times a day, this being the most aerobic of the sports. He didn't die a "sudden death" like many athletes on the field but he died within a couple of days from methanol poisoning. The methanol in aspartame which is classified as a narcotic causes chronic methanol poisoning. This affects the dopamine system of the brain and causes addiction. The man didn't have a chance. There was recently another woman who was in the sudden with acute methanol poisoning from aspartame. She happened to survive but they were ready to go after her husband had she died, just as they went after Diane, even though she called the police, took three lie detector tests and was the very one who told her athletic husband he was using too many of these dangerous products. Here is a recent article about this case from Britain: http://www.namastepublishing.co.uk/Diane%20Fleming%20Story%20.htm
I hope you will do more about aspartame as millions die from it.
All my best,
Dr. Betty Martini
