In the continued debates on aspartame you hear it said "The GAO approved it". Obviously the aspartame industry has power and influence especially with government agencies as they rubber stamped the approval of aspartame around the world without testing. What it says in the GAO Report, page 16 is: "We did not evaluate the interpretation of scientific issues on the studies used for aspartame's approval, nor did we determine aspartame's safety; we do not have the necessary expertise. We discussed how best to resolve the scientific issues with researchers inside and outside of the FDA, including officials from the National Academy of Sciences, the National Cancer Institute and the National Toxicology Program. In general, these researchers advised us that it would be better to conduct new studies that address the scientific issues on the safety of aspartame than reevaluate Searle's studies. Most of Searle's studies were conducted before FDA issued regulations setting standards for laboratory research."

Thanks to the continued research by Lane Shore, Mission Possible Chicago,, we have been able to attain a lot of the original records, Much damning evidence has been deleted. In the case of the Bressler Report or FDA audit, Lane Shore gave a copy to Jerome Bressler himself in Chicago who said, "the most important part has been deleted, two mice studies". He had also told me this 8 years earlier, and at that time Dr. H. J. Roberts and neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D. also spoke to him. He said to me, "You have to find those two studies, and the scientist's name has also been deleted." Thanks to Dr. Madelon Price, the biochemist who worked with the renowned Dr. John Olney for 38 years, we were able to attain the records and add them back to the record. Here they are: http://www.rense.com/general88/hid.htm Lane Shore delivered the report in full back to Jerome Bressler. The FDA in Chicago had written and said they no longer existed because they were old and had to be destroyed. Indeed they were under FDA seal so the public couldn't see these terrible teratology studies that should have prevented the approval of aspartame.

Dr. John Olney's testimony to the FDA explained how aspartame and in combination with MSG could damage the brains of our children. http://www.wnho.net/dr_olney1.doc Birth defects would be a given. Unfortunately his prophecy has been fulfilled. Bill Deagle, M.D., wrote: "The European Environmental Association has projected that with the rise of autism caused b toxic foods like aspartame, MSG, fluoride and environmental degradation, by 2013 no one will be born in the Western World that does not to some degree have autism. Our board of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and Dr. William Rae, director of the Dallas Environmental Clinic agreed in open discussion at the Oct 2010 annual meeting."

It has been cut off in a middle of the sentence. That file was pulled from the records. I wrote an open letter to the GAO, but for a current investigation there needs an arm of Congress. This was written to give any Senator all the facts: http://www.mpwhi.com/open_letter_to_the_gao.htm

All Executive Orders must be made public by law. As discussed by James Turner, Atty, in the movie, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, http://www.soundandfury.tv/pages/rumsfeld.html, after President Reagan took office he appointed Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes as FDA Commissioner. Someone from the Reagan Transition Team had called Dr. Jere Goyan at 3:00 AM and fired him so he could not sign the petition that would have revoked aspartame's approval. Reagan knew it would take 30 days to get Hayes to the FDA so he wrote an Executive Order making the FDA powerless to do anything about aspartame until Hayes arrived. Then Hayes over-ruled the Board of Inquiry allowing aspartame to be approved, even though he knew it was sodeadly the FDA Board of Inquiry had turned it down. I filed under Freedom of Information to get a copy of this executive order. It has been expunged from records across the country, as Lane Shore checked library after library. Yet, this is illegal. However, its not surprising. A suit was even filed to get the damning remarks removed from the Task Force investigation. Read some of these remarks: http://www.wnho.net/whopper.htm

We have an FDA who is now Big Pharma's Washington Branch Office and ignores even a petition based on an imminent health hazard. They only have a week or ten days to answer it and it was written in 2007. A citizens petition for ban was written in 2002 and has been ignored as well. Yet, Congress may give them more power with the Bill 510 that now goes to the Senate. I wonder how long it will take FDA to answer this FOIA: http://www.rense.com/general92/foia.htm There are many questions that need answering.

Consider that 100,000 people die from drug interactions with properly dispensed medications. Aspartame damages the mitochondria and interacts with drugs and vaccines. With all the lying from FDA, front groups and professional organizations, most physicians have no clue that aspartame (NutraSweet/Equal/Spoonful/AminoSweet/Neotame, Canderel, E951) is a drug. How many physicians know to take a dietary history as Dr. Ralph Walton has suggested? Aspartame drug interactions are discussed in "Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic "by H. J. Roberts, M.D., and "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills" by neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D.

Consider that while the Center for Disease Control did a damning investigation on aspartame and suggested that more neurological studies be done, they allowed a summary that contradicts the investigation. You can read it on http://www.dorway.com That summary said the reactions to aspartame were mild. Frankly I've never seen "mild" death or even "mild cardiac arrest", as an example. Like the pathologist said who worked for EPA on aspartame, "how long can FDA allow this on the market with so many people dying?" He was told they would have to remove it eventually. That was in the early 90's and its now 2010.

Three studies by the Ramazzini Institute has proven aspartame is a multipotential carcinogen that causes lymphoma, kidney cancer, leukemia, mammary, lung and liver cancers. Therefore, it violates the Delaney Amendment and must be banned. It's not like the FDA didn't know since their own toxicologist, the late Dr. Adrian Gross, testified to Congress in l985 that aspartame causes brain tumors, and that FDA should not even been able to set an allowable daily dose. His famous words will live on forever, "And if the FDA violates its own laws who is left to protect the public?"

When is enough, enough!? Now Ajinomoto changes the name of aspartame to AminoSweet to confuse consumers more. Since the sweetness comes from the free methyl alcohol and not the excitoneurotoxic amino acids it's quite deceiving.
