Subject: APPEAL OF BAN ASPARTAME PETITION AND IMMINENT HEALTH HAZARD: Combating FDA Lies

Dear Dr. Thomas:
This is the second request appealing the original request for ban aspartame that took FDA 14 years to answer. Let me remind you of the law. You have 180 days to answer. The Imminent Health Hazard petition is supposed to be answered in a week or ten days and I filed in 2007 and it’s never been answered.
You have found a loop-hole where you can always answer "we have more important matters to do." Attorney James Turner once told me you've been using that excuse for years. What is more important than removing a chemical poison from the market that's a killing machine. In talking to Jerome Bressler before he died he told me, "Betty, the FDA has always been flooded with complaints on aspartame they try to cover-up. They have full knowledge of the deaths. The last straw was when they removed the teratology information from my report. The FDA is fully aware without a pregnancy warning children will be born with everything from cancer to serious birth defects."
Dr. Thomas do not use excuses with me you know are propaganda. Remember I have the FDA's records all the way back to the original investigation when they knew it was poison and have shared them with the world. I have the task force report which included the cover-up by G. D. Searle:
FDA Toxicologist and Task Force member, Dr Adrian Gross stated (Wilson l985): "They (G.D. Searle) lied and they didn't submit the real nature of their observations because had they done that it is more likely that a great number of these studies would have been rejected simply for adequacy. What Searle did, they took great pains to camouflage these shortcomings of the study. As I say filter and just present to the FDA what they wished the FDA to know and they did other terrible things for instance animals would develop tumors while they were under study. Well they would remove these tumors from the animals."
An FDA Toxicologist explained why their experiments were invalidated: "It is highly unlikely the FDA Investigative teams found all of the problems with G. D. Searle's studies. G. D. Searle seemed so intent on covering up their misconduct, that it is quite likely that they were able to hide many of the problems from the FDA.
On Jan 10, l977 in a 33 page letter, FDA Chief Counsel Richard Merrill recommended to U.S. Attorney Sam Skinner that a grand jury investigate Searle for "apparent violations of the Federal, Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, 21 U.S.C. 331 (e), and the False Reports to the Government Act, 18 U.S.C. 1001, for 'their willful and knowing failure to make reports to the Food and Drug Administration required by the Act, 21 U.S.C. 355 (i), and for concealing material facts and making false statements in reports of animal studies conducted to establish the safety of aspartame." The FDA called special attention to studies investigating the effect of NutraSweet on monkeys and hamsters.
We have the records of when Dr. Roberts tried to get FDA to release the teratology studies that showed aspartame causes spina bifida, cleft palate and spina bifida for starters. Jerome Bressler said it was a crime to hide those records from the public when public knowledge of it being a teratogen would have prevented all these horrible birth defects. Since it was FDA that sealed the birth defect records and refused to release them even under Freedom of Information, then it's FDA who is responsible for every baby born autistic from aspartame. If FDA had done their job many of these autistic children would be normal today. The lady who drank Diet Coke through three pregnancies and has three autistic children would have healthy children and they wouldn't have to work two jobs to set up a trust for when they are no longer able to care for their children. Because FDA has mentioned about willingness to do something if the science was there and they knew the mechanism, Dr. Roberts wrote the above mentioned 1000 page medical text which gives the mechanism for each disease triggered or precipitated by aspartame. So with the medical text staring you in the face you deny seeing the information in the text. Is there no depth to which FDA will go to ignore we have a global epidemic of Rumsfeld's Plague/Aspartame Disease? Almost 100% of scientific peer reviewed research on aspartame shows the problems and FDA ignores it all.
Week after week more and more studies pour in like the recent study proving dementia. On 12/13 a new study comes in showing artificial sweeteners stimulate fat growth and harmful to metabolism. FDA continues to ignore.
Every President since Reagan has used aspartame and had health problems from it. If you had banned aspartame President Trump wouldn't be drinking 12 Diet Cokes a day. He has to make decisions for this country and aspartame is notorious for triggering brain fog that clouds decision making. Dr. Bill Deagle said because of the ubiquitous nature of aspartame in so many foods and drugs its more dangerous than depleted uranium. Dr. H. J. Roberts who wrote the medical text in his first press conference in 1990 said if something wasn't done then it would be a world epidemic, and soon after declared it a disease. Dr. Ralph Walton did the research for 60 Minutes on aspartame and scientific peer reviewed studies and funding, showing 92% of "independent and unbiased" studies showed the problems, and if you eliminated 6 studies the FDA had something to do with and one pro-industry summary, 100% showed the problems.
When Dr. Walton did a study when Monsanto owned it they refused the aspartame knowing they had no control over the study. After one person had conjunctival bleeding, the administrator who took part in the study had a retinal detachment and lost his vision in one eye, and some said they were being poisoned, the study was halted by the Institutional Review Board of Northside Medical Center, one of the teaching hospitals of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (now called Northeastern Ohio Medical University).
You can't do a study on a poison without it showing the facts. That's why only studies done by industry defending its product or those they pay ever said it was safe. If it couldn't be proven safe in original studies it’s obvious no industry study is reliable. A research front group was set up called ILSI. This way if universities or other research outlets wanting funding don't say aspartame is safe there is no funding. Remember when Dr. Richard Wurtman said he was doing research on aspartame and seizures and was threatened by the VP of the manufacturer that if he did his research funds would be rejected? Recently, much controversy has surrounded a claim that aspartame may produce an MS-like syndrome. A current review of recent peer-reviewed scientific studies have disclosed a pathophysiological mechanism to explain this connection. As far back as 1996 it was shown that the lesions produced in the myelin sheath of axons in cases of multiple sclerosis were related to excitatory receptors on the primary cells involved called oligodendroglia. Recent studies have now confirmed what was suspected back then.
The loss of myelin sheath on the nerve fibers characteristic of the disease are due to the death of these oligodendroglial cells at the site of the lesions (called plaques). Further, these studies have shown that the death of these important cells is as a result of excessive exposure to excitotoxins at the site of the lesions. Normally, most of these excitotoxins are secreted from microglial immune cells in the central nervous system. This not only destroys these myelin-producing cells it also breaks down the blood-brain barrier (BBB), allowing excitotoxins in the blood stream to enter the site of damage. Aspartame contains the excitotoxin aspartate as 40% of its molecular structure. Numerous studies have shown that consuming aspartame can significantly elevate the excitotoxin level in the blood. There is a common situation during which the excitotoxin exposure is even greater. When aspartate (as aspartame) is combined in the diet with monosodium glutamate (MSG) blood levels are several fold higher than normal. With the BBB damaged, as in MS, these excitotoxins can freely enter the site of injury,greatly magnifying the damage. So, we see that dietary excitotoxins, such as aspartame and MSG, can greatly magnify the damage produced in multiple sclerosis.
Likewise, excitotoxins have been shown to breakdown the BBB as well. Of equal concern is observation that we know that about 10% of the population (based on autopsy studies of elderly) have MS lesions without ever developing the full blown disease, a condition called benign MS. A diet high in excitotoxins, such as aspartame, can convert this benign, subclinical condition into full-blown clinical MS. The amount of excitotoxins consumed in the average American diet is considerable, as shown by several studies.
In addition, the toxin methanol is also in the aspartame molecule. Methanol is a axon poison. Combined toxicity of the aspartate and the methanol adds up to considerable brain toxicity and can convert benign, subclinical MS into full-blown MS. Once the MS becomes full-blown, further consumption of excitotoxins magnifies the toxicity, increasing disability and death. Recent studies have also shown that even single exposures to these food-based excitotoxins can produce prolonged worsening of neurological lesions. In addition, it has been demonstrated that autoimmune reactions (as occurs with MS) greatly magnifies the toxicity of aspartate and glutamate (the excitotoxins). We also know liquid forms of excitotoxins are significantly more toxic because of rapid absorption and higher blood levels.
In the face of this connection between excitotoxicity and the pathophysiology of MS, it would be ludicrous to allow further use of this excitotoxin containing sweetener..

Dr. Hattan you say the amount of methanol/formaldehyde/formic acid is modest and methanol is found in higher amounts in common food products such as citrus juices and tomatoes. You know fully well in nature the methanol is accompanied by ethanol, the antidote to methanol poisoning and takes it safely out of the body. Also it binds to pectin. You've been told for years but seem not to have the capacity to learn, or better said you refuse to tell the public the real facts and lie.

When I went to Barcelona to see Dr. M. Alemany who did the Trocho Study showing the formaldehyde embalms living tissue and damages DNA he told me aspartame would kill millions. It's obvious it’s already killed millions. Dr. Morando Soffritti said aspartame is a multipotential carcinogen and proved it in three studies peer reviewed by 7 world experts.
Why did I repeat what all these world renowned experts, researchers and physicians have said? Because if aspartame was so safe why would they say these things if they weren't true? The FDA toxicologist Dr. Jacqueline Verrett on the investigation of aspartame said to the Senate in 1987 that it was still on the market not being proven safe and the FDA was just leading up to a whitewash. You said you addressed these issues. Well address them to me or admit you lied, Dr. Thomas.
So I'm waiting - what is the FDA's excuse and who did you address it to? You can't use studies because FDA tried to have G. D. Searle indicted for fraud but both US Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statutes of limitation expired. Besides I've spoken to Jerome Bressler many times before his death and even went to Chicago to talk with him with a reporter who taped the conversation.
One of the things Jerome Bressler said to me was Searle was caught red handed excising malignant brain tumors from the rats, putting them back in the study and when they died resurrecting them on paper. Day in and day out articles and independent studies flood in on how aspartame triggers or precipitates the symptoms and diseases in the medical text from obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, strokes, dementia, to cancer and seizures. G. D. Searle couldn't get aspartame to prove safe and Jana Marie Ki and who sent one copy of the original studies to France and then shredded them said aspartame killed everything it touched.
I had an interesting conversation with someone who worked for Searle's sons. He said they would have parties and serve nothing but Diet Coke and booze. They defended aspartame even when others knew it was bad, and they drank it in front of them. He said while it was covered up, two of the sons died from malignant brain tumors just like the rats. He said they knew it was bad. He said it wasn't an easy death. Reminds me of Kelli Motlock who had a head full of aspartame brain tumors and cried, "I want to live, I want to live, I want to live."

The agent didn't want them, just upset over the fact he wrote the letter. Dr. Bowen has Lou Gehrigs Disease from aspartame. You tell me why FDA refuses to do anything about this poison and continues to allow the public to suffer and die.
The FDA has laws. When you file a petition to ban you have 180 days to answer. Instead you send you a letter saying you have more important things to do and you send this letter to many people trying to get something done about aspartame. What is more important than to stop allowing the public to be poisoned by an addictive, excitoneurotoxic, carcinogenic, genetically engineered drug, adjuvant and teratogen that damages the mitochondria and interacts with drugs and vaccines.
The 1000 page medical text was actually 40% larger when it was written but too large to publish and now more and more studies have been done showing it to be a killer. FDA is responsible for every death because of your "do nothing" agency refusing to remove aspartame in favor of pleasing aspartame manufacturers. You're supposed to be the servant of the people protecting them, not the serpent allowing more aspartame on the market with full knowledge it will disable and kill people.
Everywhere I lecture in other countries people are sick and dying on aspartame. They are destroying the children who are medicated instead of educated. Food Standards in these countries tell me "we didn't do any studies, we accepted what the FDA said". FDA lies were rubberstamped around the world with aspartame causing sickness and death in its path.
It took 14 years for FDA to answer my petition that by law had to be answered in 180 days. The one in 2007 on the imminent health hazard had to be answered in a week or ten days and has never been answered. The agent who called me in 2009 said they would not ban it and I said "I lecture all over the world and people are sick and dying". He said, "So what we have to depopulate!"
I have appealed the decision of the original ban and demanded the imminent health hazard petition be answered. If you can't answer the facts about the original approval because of Don Rumsfeld and tell me who you addressed this to than you lied to me. Lying to the public demands resignation and that goes for you too Dr. Hattan. You've been there long enough to know about all the fraud and what went on. I've been researching aspartame for almost three decades and taken the cases of probably 50,000 people who used aspartame - lives destroyed and many deceased, too late to help them. The FDA has ignored almost 100% of independent scientific peer reviewed studies showing aspartame is deadly.
In one day, I received 12,000 case histories of sick and dying aspartame victims that crashed my computer when Nancy Markle put her name on a paper I wrote to a neurologist group about lecturing for the World Environmental Conference. She just disorganized it. People called from all over the world, many weeping. Some of them telling me they had gotten off of it and the symptoms immediately disappeared but how many years they had suffered losing jobs, spouses, homes and how it destroyed their lives.
Dr. Hattan you wrote some people have spontaneous remissions. Thousands of people got off aspartame and their symptoms disappeared and you think they all just immediately had spontaneous remissions? No way to substantiate this lie. Some called in languages I couldn't understand. An American living in China emailed me recently and said, "people are sick all over China from aspartame and don't even know what's causing their suffering. How do I help them? "
Remember all my letters to FDA are OPEN and are read the world over. How can you prove me wrong? Everything is a matter of public record. What does it take to get this deadly poison off the market and stop you people from approving more?
You have two weeks to answer this petition and appeal. If you take the fifth or send me an excuse 2018 will be a campaign to send it to all parliaments and Food Standards throughout the world.
